Edit in WordPress and keep the design consistent

Editors use the standard WordPress Site Editor. Compatible tools can read the theme’s component definitions and available content areas, so both work from the same design system.

Native WordPress editing

Customize templates, navigation, styles, and patterns in Appearance → Editor with core Gutenberg blocks and normal block-theme files.

Canvas includes visible keyboard focus, support for reduced-motion preferences, responsive layouts, right-to-left language support, and core Details patterns. Its editor styles reflect the site’s appearance.

A readable description of the theme

A validated, read-only file describes the theme’s components and editable areas for compatible tools. It contains no credentials or executable workflow instructions.

No hidden application layer

Canvas adds no frontend theme JavaScript, remote fonts, telemetry, tracking, demo importer, custom block, shortcode, content type, role, or automatic plugin installation.

What teams usually need to know

Does Agent Canvas require Composer or another AI plugin?

No. Canvas is a complete WordPress block theme on its own. Optional Composer integration uses a static, read-only description of the theme’s components and editable areas.

Does Canvas send site data to an external service?

No. The theme makes no external API request, loads no remote font or frontend script, and includes no telemetry or tracking.

Will Canvas import demo pages automatically?

No. You choose when to insert patterns or make changes in the Site Editor.

What happens if the site switches themes?

Content built from core blocks remains readable. Canvas-specific wrapper classes can lose their Canvas styling, but the content is not locked into a proprietary block or shortcode.
