# Install Agent Canvas and Start in the Site Editor

Agent Canvas requires WordPress 6.9 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. Composer, Starter, and other WP Suite plugins are optional.

1. Open **Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme**.
2. Upload a trusted, versioned `smartcloud-agent-canvas-<version>.zip` package.
3. Install and activate **SmartCloud Agent Canvas**.
4. Open **Appearance → Editor**.
5. Review the default Cloud visual system and the Aurora, Emerald, Coral, Slate, Warm, and High Contrast style variations.
6. Customize navigation, templates, template parts, and global Styles with native WordPress controls.
7. Check representative pages with keyboard navigation and narrow responsive previews before saving production changes.

Activation does not import pages, posts, navigation, or demo content. It also makes no external request. Inserting a Canvas pattern copies its core blocks into the current content; later pattern-source updates do not silently rewrite existing pages.

Prefer the semantic color, typography, spacing, radius, shadow, and gradient presets exposed through WordPress. Avoid hard-coded inline CSS or presentation-only HTML wrappers when a theme token, block style, or Canvas pattern already expresses the intended result.

If Agent Composer is active, rescan **SmartCloud → Agent Composer → Theme & providers** after installing or updating Canvas. The scan reports the current capabilities but does not rewrite the active Config Set.
